Letters Hey Ranger. I greatly appreciate the care package for my troops and to hear from folks back home. I posted your letter on the bulletin board in my Brigade TOC and made a copy for my Brigade CSM. I am MAJ Marshall Rich; I am the Brigade Signal Officer for the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, based in Baghdad, Iraq. Commo is a bit hard here in the desert, but we make it work with chewing gum and tangle foot wire. When I received the package, I opened the letter first. Once I found out whom it was from and what it was for, I carried it to my enlisted man tent and we celebrated Christmas a little early. We had a lot of fun for a few minutes and it was a blast. You hit the spot, Cracker-Jacks, Chips, Shampoo, deodorant, and one of my female soldiers really needed those female razors. She sends her thanks. I have attached a picture of myself out side of an Iraqi Army headquarters and a photo with me standing next to an Iraqi soldier. The Iraqi soldiers and people need and want us here, but when we are through and they can sustain themselves, then they want us to leave, which I can understand. Gary, we appreciate the home front support, keep it going in the rear and we’ll get it done here.
